BackTrax stands out in the crowded Connecticut local music scene by focusing heavily on forgotten gems and complex anthems from the golden eras of rock and pop—delivering the exact music that triggers powerful emotional memories for audiences.  Formed by Burlington, CT drummer, David Putterman, we have built a reputation that elevates us above standard acts.

What makes BackTrax stand out?

  • Nostalgic High Energy Songs: We do not rely on the same overplayed Top 40 tracks as other cover bands, our setlist is a deep dive into classic rock, southern rock, R&B, and Motown hits from the 1960s through the 1980s. We prioritize high-energy tracks that audiences love but rarely hear live.

  • Massive Vocal Harmonies: BackTrax features four distinct vocalists, three of which are lead vocalists.  This allows us to effortlessly recreate the rich, layered, and complex vocal harmonies of iconic groups like The Eagles, Elton John, and bands from the British Invasion of the 1960s.

  • Dual Keyboardists:While most local cover bands operate as a basic four-piece (guitar, bass, keys, drums), BackTrax utilizes a robust lineup that features dual keyboardists.  This configuration delivers an incredibly full, symphonic wall of sound that perfectly captures the complex textures of studio recordings without relying on pre-recorded backing tracks.

  • Philanthropic Community Focus:The band leadership is heavily rooted in the community. Our drummer serves as the Executive Producer for The Phoenix Project, a non-profit that hosts rock concerts to raise money for Parkinson’s research and other local charitable causes.
